- Increase capacity of diversion programs & increase diversion referrals
- Place rehabilitation and reduction in repeat offenses over winning convictions
- Protect all victims of crime including those who are undocumented and make the State’s Attorney’s Office a safe haven for victims to seek justice
- Prioritize prevention of mass casualty attacks (school shootings, etc.)
- Support Illinois’ “Red Flag Law”
- Partner with school districts and local law enforcement to engage in behavioral intervention efforts
- Institute data collection and data sharing of prosecutorial decisions
- Work with criminal justice researchers and with the Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority to develop plans for data collection and data analysis
- Publicly share data and findings to identify strengths and weakness of prosecution operations
- Increase resources for diversion and rehabilitation programs
- Advocate for more resources for mental health and substance abuse treatment programs
- Partner with the Kane County Sheriff in job training and re-entry program development
- Develop a grant strategy in collaboration with the Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority to provide short-term resources to build, execute, and evaluate evidence based and promising practice programs
- Engage local law enforcement and communities of color to address the trust deficits by engaging in frank dialogue around real and perceived grievances by all stakeholders
